About the position

The Policy and Research Analyst will play a crucial role in the NYC Mayor's Office, which is responsible for administering city services, public property, and enforcing laws within New York City. This position involves overseeing and monitoring various projects, legislation, and policy initiatives to ensure that established goals and timelines are met. The analyst will assist other staff members in conducting both qualitative and quantitative research related to policy proposals, projects, and public safety initiatives. Based on the analysis conducted, the analyst will provide recommendations to relevant staff members to inform decision-making processes. In addition to research and analysis, the Policy and Research Analyst will be tasked with preparing briefing memoranda, providing background research and information, coordinating meeting planning, and responding to correspondence. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute positively to a learning culture and adapt to the dynamic and rapidly responsive nature of the organization. Candidates must be aware that only permanent employees in the title and those reachable on the civil service list are eligible to apply. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A master's degree from an accredited college in a relevant field such as economics, finance, public administration, or political science, and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in related areas.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of professional experience in relevant areas, including 18 months of executive, managerial, administrative, or supervisory experience.
