The Policy and Budget Analyst position within the Office of the Illinois Senate President is designed for a motivated individual to assist in the development and implementation of legislation and the crafting of the state budget. This role involves collaboration with Senate Democratic Caucus members, policy stakeholders, and other departments, providing a unique opportunity to gain insight into the legislative process.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate committee processes for assigned Senate committees.
• Conduct policy research and analysis.
• Draft legislation and state budgets.
• Prepare memoranda and provide advice to Senate members during negotiations and debates.
• Collaborate with members of the Senate Democratic Caucus and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in policy development and budgeting.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.
