Political Science Adjunct Faculty Pool

About the position

Howard Community College (HCC) is seeking individuals to be included in a pool to hire adjunct (part-time) faculty for Political Science courses. The position involves teaching a variety of 100 level classes in Political Science, with adjuncts typically teaching up to two classes per semester. Candidates must be available to teach in-person classes at the main Columbia and Laurel College Center campuses of Howard Community College. Candidates are expected to be familiar with using an online learning management system such as CANVAS, and should have proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity software.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of 100 level classes in Political Science.
• Prepare course materials and deliver lectures.
• Assess student performance and provide feedback.
• Utilize online learning management systems for course delivery.

Requirements

• A master's degree in Political Science or a related field is required.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Experience teaching or training using a variety of modalities including online, in person, and hybrid courses.
• Proficiency in using technology to deliver learning.

Nice-to-haves
