About the position

The Technician will play a crucial role in the pharmacy department by following well-defined instructions and utilizing necessary skills to prepare and distribute medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position is essential for ensuring that patients receive their medications safely and efficiently. The Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall functioning of the pharmacy, including filling and labeling medications accurately, refilling the Pyxis medication dispensing system, and delivering medications to various Patient Care Areas within the facility. In addition to these responsibilities, the Technician will prepare IV admixture solutions, which requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. The role also involves answering telephone calls and directing them to the appropriate staff members, which is vital for maintaining effective communication within the pharmacy and with other departments. Maintaining medication stock levels is another critical duty, ensuring that the pharmacy is well-stocked and that medications are stored properly to guarantee safe and cost-effective pharmaceutical services. This position offers an estimated pay range of $20.00 per hour, depending on the shift worked. The Technician will be expected to work collaboratively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients.

  • Hospital experience preferred, which may include internship training hours.
