About the position
The Underground Operations Frontline Supervisor at Nevada Gold Mines is responsible for overseeing and coordinating underground mining operations. This role requires a strong background in underground hard rock mining, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance with mine plans. The supervisor will lead a team, ensuring that personnel are effectively assigned to tasks and that equipment operates optimally. The position emphasizes training and developing employees to maintain high safety standards and operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and assign personnel as jobs require
- Coordinate with maintenance to ensure equipment performs as desired
- Coordinate with engineering to ensure compliance with mine plans
- Develop and train employees to standards for safe and efficient equipment operation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of six (6) years of underground mine related experience required
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience at a supervisory level required
- Proven knowledge of underground hard rock mining required
- Experience in an environment involving planning/scheduling of maintenance work preferred
- Excellent communication skills with ability to supervise and direct underground supervision required
- Excellent safety and performance record required
- The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
