About the position

The Porter Manager is responsible for overseeing service and sales porters, managing schedules, and serving as the primary contact for all porters. This role involves tracking staffing movements between facilities and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of vehicle inventories.

Responsibilities

• Manage Porter staff, create schedules, and report out-sick employees or incidents.
• Keep accurate track of all showrooms, Porter equipment, and ordering supplies such as wax, soap, rags, washers, and vacuums.
• Ensure the internal monthly vehicle inventory scan is completed on the 1st day of each month, or the next possible business day if not feasible.
• Drive and handle all vehicles responsibly and safely to prevent damage.
• Assist with moving vehicles between display areas, service department, storage facilities, and customer locations.
• Manage the appearance and performance of new/used vehicle inventory by ensuring cleanliness of interiors and exteriors.
• Ensure vehicles have disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and identification tags.
• Drive offsite for errands, including automobile deliveries and pickups, and assist with dealer trades.
• Maintain neat and orderly new/used vehicle showrooms, outdoor lots, and storage facilities.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior dealership/porter experience is required
• Ability to take accurate notes
• Follow proper and explicit instructions
• Professional appearance and disposition
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Strong communication skills, including listening
• Valid California driver's license; insurable
• Ability to drive manual and automatic transmission vehicles
• Use of hand tools and power washers
• Productivity through time management skills
