About the position

The Porter Property Monitor at Belmont Village Lincoln Park plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the community during the night shift. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to providing a clean and welcoming environment for residents and guests. The Porter will be responsible for performing cleaning duties in common areas, ensuring that restrooms and laundry rooms are well-stocked, and managing waste disposal effectively. The role also involves monitoring the community's security by making regular rounds to check that all exterior doors are locked and responding to any after-hours visitors or guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently while prioritizing tasks efficiently. Belmont Village Senior Living is dedicated to providing premier assisted living and memory care services, and the Porter will contribute to this mission by ensuring that the community is clean, safe, and welcoming. The position requires a proactive approach to cleanliness and safety, as well as the ability to handle unexpected situations with diplomacy and tact. The Porter will report any unusual occurrences or suspicious activities to the Manager on Duty, ensuring the safety and security of all residents and staff. Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning of the community common areas to ensure conformance to Belmont Village cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure common area restrooms and laundry rooms are adequately supplied with necessary items such as toilet paper, hand towels, hand soap, and laundry detergent.
  • Pick up and properly dispose of exterior trash, remove waste, and replace trash can liners.
  • Use diplomacy and tact in dealing with residents or guests.
  • Respond to after-hours visitors/guests who arrive at the community.
  • Make hourly rounds to confirm that the community's exterior doors and other points of entry are locked.
  • Report unusual occurrences, suspicious situations, or persons to the Manager on Duty and take appropriate action.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One plus years of experience as a housekeeper, janitor, or porter.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong customer service skills.
