About the position

Stonecrest Honda, a Hudson Automotive company, is seeking self-motivated Lot Porters for our Service Department. As a part of one of the fastest-growing auto dealer groups in the Southeastern U.S., you will play a crucial role in maintaining the organization and efficiency of our vehicle lot. The Lot Porter will be responsible for various tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the service department, including vehicle inspections, organization of the lot, and maintaining the overall appearance of the dealership. In this role, you will be expected to compare serial numbers of incoming cars against invoices, inspect vehicles for any damages, and verify the presence of accessories as listed. You will also be responsible for recording any damages and missing items, parking new vehicles in designated areas, and cataloging and storing keys. Additionally, you will assign stock control numbers to cars, move sold vehicles to optimize space, and deliver sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department. It is essential to service vehicles in storage to protect them from deterioration, ensuring that our inventory remains in top condition. Responsibilities

  • Compares serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice.
  • Inspects vehicles to detect damage and verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice.
  • Records the description of damages and lists missing items on the delivery receipt.
  • Parks new vehicles in assigned areas.
  • Catalogs and stores keys.
  • Assigns stock control numbers to cars.
  • Moves sold vehicles to maximize use of space and keep the lot in order.
  • Delivers sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department.
  • Services vehicles in storage to protect tires, battery, and finish against deterioration.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Attention to detail for vehicle inspections and damage reporting.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in an automotive service department or similar role.
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and care.
