About the position

The Porter/Utility position at Van Dyk Park Place involves supporting the kitchen staff in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the food service area. This role is essential for ensuring that dietary procedures are followed and that the kitchen operates smoothly to meet the needs of residents in an assisted living facility.

Responsibilities

• Assures that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Develops and maintains a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel and other departments.
• Assists in daily and scheduled cleaning duties according to established policies and procedures.
• Works the dishwashing station as needed and maintains all temperature logs.
• Cleans work areas, refrigerators, freezers, etc. as assigned and maintains all temperature logs.
• Organizes stock rooms and walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
• Puts away inventory from deliveries.
• Returns clean utensils to proper storage areas.
• Attends and participates in in-service education programs.
• Prepares food in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies and procedures.
• Ensures that safety regulations are always followed.
• Follows established infection/exposure control and universal precautions policies and procedures.
• Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment to the executive chef and/or administration.
• Performs other related duties as required or directed.
