About the position

The Porter position at ASM Global involves assisting in food and beverage services for events at the Broward County Convention Center. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, ensuring efficient service, and supporting event setup and breakdown. The position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the Convention Center.
• Assist with collecting and cleaning all banquet equipment.
• Assist with storing deliveries ensuring all items are put in the proper place, rotated correctly, and are wrapped, labeled, and dated.
• Ensure all storage areas are always clean and kept in proper condition according to company standards.
• Anticipate guests' needs, responding in a quick, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Assist in pre and post event set up and breakdown duties.
• Move product and/or perform work in various areas within the building.
• Move ice, food, and beverage equipment to appropriate areas.
• Clean spills, help stock shelves, and pull stock, as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School degree/GED or equivalent is required.
• At least two (2) years of experience in a Food & Beverage environment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
