About the position

The Portfolio Analyst (PA) at T. Rowe Price plays a crucial role in analyzing investment portfolios and developing comprehensive institutional-level portfolio analysis. This position is designed to inform key stakeholders about T. Rowe Price's investment portfolios, ensuring that the messaging is consistent, accurate, and maintains the integrity of the investment strategies across various regions and distribution channels. The PA will work closely with portfolio managers, portfolio specialists, and senior analysts to support the firm's commitment to outstanding client service and asset retention. In this role, the PA is expected to conduct thorough research and analysis on assigned investment portfolios, considering financial market conditions, competitor analysis, and asset class characteristics. This analysis will not only support the portfolio manager's needs but also contribute to marketing, sales, and client service efforts. The PA will create custom analyses to address client inquiries and concerns, often under the guidance of senior team members. Additionally, the PA will develop and maintain a deep understanding of the investment strategies, benchmarks, and peers to effectively communicate results and insights to stakeholders. The PA will also be responsible for delivering quarterly strategy updates and maintaining expertise in investment data applications to extract relevant data for analysis. This position requires strong collaboration skills, as the PA will support and sometimes represent portfolio managers in client interactions, assist in creating marketing materials, and contribute to the overall sales cycle. Furthermore, the PA will play a key role in educating and training associates about the assigned investment portfolios, thereby enhancing the firm's brand awareness and client engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis on assigned investment portfolios considering financial market conditions and competitor analysis.
  • Create custom analysis to address client inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge to act as a subject matter resource on investment strategies.
  • Create quality investment messaging to communicate analysis results to stakeholders.
  • Deliver quarterly strategy updates to inform the enterprise about investment results.
  • Support portfolio managers and specialists in responding to client inquiries.
  • Act as an investment resource for content creation for marketing and sales efforts.
  • Participate in client meetings and conduct investment reviews as needed.
  • Develop relationships to navigate organizational structures and respond to client needs.
  • Provide education and training to associates about assigned investment portfolios.
  • Support the sales cycle by assisting with RFPs and client retention inquiries.
  • Mentor new and junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in investment analysis.
  • Proven analytical skills and strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of investment experience.
  • Progress towards or possession of CFA and/or Master's degree.
  • Experience in Fixed Income investments.
  • Some institutional and/or intermediary investor experience.
