About the position

The Portfolio Analyst II at City National Bank is responsible for managing the SBC loan portfolio, focusing on performance responsibilities such as handling administratively delinquent loans, conducting behavioral and vendor reviews, and analyzing early default loans. This role supports the ongoing needs of the SBC loan portfolio and involves various tasks including monitoring past due loans, conducting credit assessments, and preparing reports.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of SBC loans.
  • Monitor the status of renewal processes for past due loans and prepare recommendations for extending maturity dates.
  • Complete necessary documentation and obtain approvals for past due credits.
  • Conduct post-mortem credit assessments of charged-off credits to identify trends.
  • Prepare and manage the Quarter End Reportable process to minimize administrative past dues.
  • Conduct independent file reviews of SBC Credit loans to assess current risk and recommend actions.
  • Assess financial risks of bank vendors through due diligence reviews.
  • Identify problem loan situations and communicate findings to management.
  • Process transfers to the Special Assets Department (SAD).
  • Prepare and present special projects and reports as requested.
  • Assist in the development of ad hoc policies and procedures.
  • Train new colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in credit administration, portfolio management, small business underwriting, or work out area of a financial institution.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in small business underwriting or portfolio management.
  • Highly knowledgeable of small business credit policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to effectively prioritize.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Solid research and analysis skills.
