About the position

The Project Manager III, Portfolio Delivery at L.A. Care Health Plan is responsible for overseeing and managing a portfolio of large, complex projects within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (ePMO). This role involves leading project teams, developing project plans, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Manager will also be accountable for identifying risks, tracking project progress, and providing status reports to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages a portfolio of large complex projects.
• Develops, manages, and maintains the project plan, schedule, resources, and project artifacts.
• Identifies and tracks risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
• Provides timely status reports and proactively escalates issues for resolution.
• Develops strategies for achieving project goals and realigns strategies to account for unforeseen challenges.
• Monitors best practices in the field of expertise.
• Leads others to successfully complete project deliverables on time, within scope and on budget.
• Responsible for scheduling, cost tracking/budget, and resource management.
• Ensures executive summaries are submitted to the Leadership Team for review and approval.
• Applies subject expertise in evaluating business operations and processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required; equivalent education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• At least 5-7 years of experience in Project Management within a Managed Care Organization or Top 10 management consulting role in the Healthcare industry.
• Demonstrated success managing medium to large scale, diverse and complex projects executing simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
