About the position

Joining BAE Systems as a Portfolio Director for Organizational Change Management (OCM) means becoming a vital part of our Enterprise Shared Services team, where you will be instrumental in managing the technology aspects of multiple contracts and programs that contribute to national safety. This role is not just about overseeing change; it’s about fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and respect, aligning with our company’s core values. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive change management strategy that impacts the entire division, ensuring that organizational change initiatives are effectively managed and executed. In this dynamic position, you will lead a Change Management Center of Excellence, creating a community of advocates for organizational change readiness across the Enterprise Shared Services (ESS). Your leadership will be crucial in developing training programs that enhance OCM capabilities and in providing consulting and oversight to ensure that change initiatives are successful. You will assess the scope of change initiatives, develop strategic plans, and monitor the progress of various change management initiatives within the ESS portfolio. Building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders will be key to your success, as will your ability to attract, develop, and retain a diverse and high-performing team. You will lead a staff of OCM Managers and Analysts, guiding them to ensure the successful completion of change initiatives. Your role will also involve facilitating workshops and meetings to identify and implement change initiatives, developing policies and procedures for effective organizational change, and preparing reports and presentations to communicate the results of change management activities. Additionally, you will identify and assess potential risks associated with these initiatives, ensuring that the organization is well-prepared for any challenges that may arise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic leadership and promote a positive culture within the organization.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive change management strategy for Enterprise Shared Services (ESS).
  • Lead a Change Management Center of Excellence and expand a community of organizational change readiness advocates.
  • Create training programs to support OCM capability development.
  • Provide consulting and oversight to ensure effective management of organizational change.
  • Identify and assess the scope of change initiatives and develop plans accordingly.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and success of the ESS portfolio of change management initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders for successful change initiatives.
  • Attract, develop, and retain high-performing, diverse talent; build future leaders through development and mentoring.
  • Lead a staff of employee and contract OCM Managers and Analysts, providing guidance and direction.
  • Facilitate and lead workshops and meetings to identify, plan, and implement change initiatives.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for successful organizational change.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate change management activities and results.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with change management initiatives.

Requirements

  • 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Expert level understanding of methodologies for leading organizational change readiness efforts.
  • Experience with multiple change management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of organizational development, communication, and training.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of information technology concepts and practices.
  • Experience managing staff, including recruitment, assignment, development, and retention.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills to achieve results through others.
  • Experience in process development.
  • Learning agility and a relentless improvement mindset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience presenting to executive leadership.
