The Portfolio Implementation Manager at the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) plays a crucial role in assisting with all aspects of the agency's investment management. This position reports directly to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and is responsible for overseeing the investment life cycle, which includes onboarding, cash flow management, trading, and investment system integrations. The incumbent will need to stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes that may impact portfolio management. In this role, the Portfolio Implementation Manager will oversee various investment department processes, policies, projects, and procedures to ensure consistency across the board. The position requires collaboration with multiple departments, including Technology, Legal, Finance, and Procurement, as well as external consultant teams to manage visible projects effectively. The manager will also be tasked with developing content and presentation decks for investment committee meetings and board materials, articulating portfolio strategic priorities and business overviews. Additionally, the Portfolio Implementation Manager will coordinate with internal and external managers and other key stakeholders to enhance portfolio management processes. This includes assisting the portfolio management team in implementing new investment strategies, such as alternative assets and derivatives, and supporting portfolio cash and liquidity management. The role also involves onboarding new managers and external consultants, as well as setting up accounts in custodian and vendor systems. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.
