About the position

The Portfolio Manager (PM) role at Lord Abbett involves managing interest rate exposures in both US and Non-US markets across Fixed Income strategies. The PM will be responsible for developing ideas and modeling trades in cash and derivative markets, including nominal government bonds, inflation-linked government bonds, futures, and swaps. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with multiple investment teams and corporate services in a dynamic organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Money Market Fund and other US government-only strategies.
• Collaborate with Lead Portfolio Managers of multi-sector strategies to develop views on duration, term structure, and curve exposures.
• Generate significant alpha by selecting optimal securities for managing interest rate risk and taking discretionary views relative to benchmarks and peers.
• Maintain desired duration, slope, and curve exposures at the portfolio level.
• Model trades across global rates markets and communicate effectively with traders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in cash and derivatives interest rate markets.
• Buy-side experience working in a team-based environment is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills to manage across various strategies and accounts.
• Ability to effectively communicate and drive positive outcomes in a collaborative, results-oriented environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; MA, MBA and/or CFA designation is viewed positively.
