About the position

The Portfolio Manager will oversee several residential condominium projects in San Francisco, CA. This role involves managing associations under the direction of their Board of Directors, ensuring compliance with California Civil Code, and maintaining financial oversight. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong communication skills, with a focus on customer service and vendor negotiation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage several residential condominium projects and associations under the direction of their Board of Directors.
  • Keep the Board of Directors informed of the financial condition and needs of the Association as per California Civil Code 1365.
  • Prepare and submit a pro forma budget and capital outlay program to the Boards, and administer the budget upon its adoption.
  • Provide a complete report of each Association's finances at the end of each fiscal year in accordance with the California Common Interest Subdivision Act.
  • Appoint and manage employees of the Association based on merit and fitness, and remove or suspend employees as necessary.
  • Fix the compensation structure for all Association personnel within budget limits.
  • Attend all Board and committee meetings as necessary.
  • Oversee the use of all Association property and ensure its repair and maintenance through the Chief Engineer.
  • Purchase supplies, materials, and equipment for the Associations, negotiate and execute contracts, and maintain accounting of purchases and contracts.
  • Enforce CC&Rs, Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and acts of the Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Several years of HOA management experience (5 years required).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of California Civil Code, facilities management, and disclosure requirements preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • CACM Certification (preferred).
  • CAI Certification (preferred).
  • Experience in property management.
