About The Position

The Portfolio Manager at NextGear Capital is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of dealer clients with lines of credit ranging from $50,000 to $3,000,000. This role focuses on building and maintaining client relationships, optimizing credit usage, mitigating risks, and supporting collections on defaulted accounts. The position requires a strong understanding of the automotive and finance industries, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (8 years) in finance, client-facing roles, B2B, account management, or collections.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Salesforce.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze financial statements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a remote environment.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience in the automotive or floorplan industry.

Responsibilities

• Optimize each client's use of the line of credit within an assigned portfolio.
• Achieve goals and performance targets by engaging with clients and collaborating with internal partners.
• Educate clients on performance behaviors and best practices to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Collect and analyze client financial information to assess dealer performance and manage risk.
• Identify targets for growth and clients in financial distress using historical data and tools.
• Collaborate with Risk and Recovery department for risk mitigation and collection efforts.
• Conduct physical inspections of inventory and ensure quality control.
• Document all client interactions in Salesforce as required by company KPIs.
• Onboard new clients to ensure a positive experience.
• Cultivate relationships across Cox Automotive business units.
