The Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role in the administration, growth, and development of the Dallas Commercial Real Estate homebuilder loan portfolio. This position involves ongoing management of the existing homebuilder loan portfolio, which includes conducting regular reviews of asset performance. The focus of these reviews is to evaluate actual performance against original underwriting expectations and the financial projections of homebuilders, including their income statements and balance sheets. The Portfolio Manager will analyze various documents such as quarterly operating statements, financial statements from borrowers or sponsors, project inventory status reports, and speculative unit aging tests to assess the overall credit condition of the borrower or sponsor. In addition to portfolio management, the Portfolio Manager will assist Bankers and Relationship Managers in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective homebuilder and land developer clients. This includes identifying, analyzing, structuring, and capturing opportunities for additional homebuilder loan business, as well as cross-selling other bank products. The role requires collaboration with internal business partners and experts to enhance client relationships and drive profitability and efficiency for the bank. The Portfolio Manager will also provide support to various teams, including Underwriting, Credit, and the Senior Credit Risk Officer, in managing loans and the pipeline. Responsibilities include conducting site inspections, appraisal reviews, and financial analyses of borrowers or projects. The Portfolio Manager will prepare memos on prospective loan requests, assist in preparing formal credit approval memos, and conduct annual relationship reviews to ensure consistency in the execution of terms and conditions provided to clients. Furthermore, the Portfolio Manager will analyze clients' financial positions and creditworthiness to ensure that loans are adequately supported and comply with the bank's credit policies. They will identify and recommend mitigants for critical risk factors related to credit extensions and negotiate major loan terms, including amounts, repayment methods, collateral requirements, and pricing rates based on risk considerations. The role also involves assisting Bankers and borrowers in assessing the need for credit extensions or modifications and communicating with the Senior Credit Risk Officer as necessary. The Portfolio Manager will engage in business development strategies to retain and broaden existing client relationships, participate in marketing processes, and attend networking events to build trusted relationships with internal and external partners. This position requires a commitment to providing extraordinary service to clients and maintaining confidentiality while adhering to bank policies and industry regulations. Reliable and predictable on-site attendance is essential for this role.
