About the position

The position at Associated Bank involves underwriting, credit monitoring, and portfolio management of Specialized Banking relationships. The role aims to enhance efficiencies and quality in processes and products, while also focusing on client retention and expansion. The individual will analyze financial data to assess loan requests, recommend structures, and identify cross-selling opportunities, all while ensuring compliance with credit policies and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and monitor credit for Specialized Banking relationships.
  • Analyze financial data to determine the merits of loan requests and adherence to loan policy.
  • Recommend loan structures and collect financial statements.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for other deposit services.
  • Maintain and build loans, deposits, and fee income.
  • Ensure compliance with Associated Banc-Corp credit policy and regulatory guidelines.
  • Co-manage client relationships and aggressively manage client interactions.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal departments, including the Credit Department.
  • Train and develop junior portfolio managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-7 years of experience in Commercial/Corporate/Commercial Real Estate/Specialized Banking and/or Credit Approval.
  • 4-7 years of experience handling complex credits.
  • 2-4 years of sales experience.
  • Access to reliable transportation and ability to drive, if applicable.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2-4 years of formal credit training.
  • CFA - Chartered Financial Analyst certification.
