As a Portfolio Manager based out of our Melbourne, FL office, you will be responsible for the overall success of assigned states. This role involves analyzing state trends, rate adequacy, and claims trends. You will collaborate with multiple departments including Claims, Tech, Customer Experience, and Sales to ensure the product's success. Monitoring market competition is crucial to ensure Orion180 maintains a competitive advantage in terms of quality and performance. In this position, you will manage the overall product performance of assigned states, identify market needs, and ensure that the product meets and performs as expected. You will juggle multiple simultaneous projects at various stages of completion and motivate project teams to success. Collaboration with sales and marketing departments is essential to review market strategy, understand product positioning, and provide input on marketing collateral development. You will also work with the technology team to develop product documentation and training, own and communicate product requirements, and provide technical competitive analysis to support product positioning and sales. Additionally, you will build product roadmaps and strategy, ensuring products are competitively priced and meet specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall product performance of assigned states.
  • Identify market needs and ensure that the product meets and performs as expected.
  • Juggle multiple simultaneous projects at various stages of completion.
  • Motivate and drive project teams to success.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing departments to review market strategy and product positioning.
  • Provide input on marketing collateral development.
  • Define and articulate competitive products.
  • Collaborate with technology team and technical writers to develop product documentation and training.
  • Own and communicate requirements for products and enhancements.
  • Conduct technical competitive analysis in support of product positioning and sales.
  • Provide leadership and delivery on projects while collaborating with other departments.
  • Build and manage product line/category goals.
  • Identify new product opportunities and define product requirements.
  • Create an annual product plan and build product roadmaps and strategy.
  • Ensure products are within optimal price margins and competitive in the market space.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from sales, marketing, customer experience, and agents to define requirements.
  • Create business cases and ROI analyses for new features and present to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent insurance industry experience required.
  • 3 or more years of property and casualty insurance experience required.
  • 5 or more years of business analysis or product management experience required.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and demanding environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
