About the position

The Portfolio Manager will oversee a diverse portfolio of multi-family residential properties, including both market-rate and affordable housing across various locations in New England, Baltimore, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. This role emphasizes strong customer service, operational efficiency, and team leadership, requiring approximately 50% travel, especially in the initial months to key property sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of a regional portfolio, ensuring efficient property management, regulatory compliance, and high tenant satisfaction.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with property owners, tenants, and stakeholders, focusing on effective service with key clients.
• Manage budgets and operational workflows, overseeing project timelines, cost efficiency, and financial reporting for each property.
• Support and mentor property management staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Ensure that all properties meet regulatory requirements, particularly in affordable housing and tax credit compliance.

Requirements

• 7-10+ years in property management, with specific expertise in multi-site and affordable housing management.
• Proficiency with property management software (Yardi preferred).
• Strong problem-solving, customer service, and communication abilities.
