About the position

The Portfolio Manager will oversee project portfolios, ensuring they are delivered on scope, on time, within budget, and to a high-quality standard. This role involves maintaining project documentation, serving as a liaison for projects, and fostering relationships with team members and stakeholders. The Portfolio Manager will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching team members, supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, and managing succession planning for key roles.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering projects on scope, on time, within budget, and to an agreed-upon quality level.
  • Adhering to PMO defined processes and methodologies.
  • Maintaining up-to-date project documentation in the PMO departmental repository (SharePoint).
  • Updating centralized/co-owned reports and dashboards.
  • Utilizing departmental templates as instructed.
  • Serving as the primary liaison for assigned projects.
  • Fostering positive relationships with project team members and stakeholders.
  • Recruiting and selecting project manager professionals into the company.
  • Supporting onboarding and offboarding of resources.
  • Conducting performance reviews, mentoring, and coaching sessions throughout the year.
  • Partnering with employees to create training plans that align with business needs and individual interests.
  • Managing a succession plan for key roles on the team.

Requirements

  • Experience in a centralized PMO environment with knowledge of Project Management principles.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with experience in managing enterprise technology deployments.
  • Experience in managing data and AI projects, including data acquisition, modeling, validation, and deployment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and leadership.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to executive leadership.
  • Ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment.
  • Experience in building, coaching, and managing an effective team.
