About the position

The Portfolio Manager will oversee the management of a sub-portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role involves maintaining project documentation, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and supporting the recruitment and development of project management professionals. The Portfolio Manager will also conduct performance reviews and manage succession planning for key roles within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver projects on scope, on time, within budget, and to an agreed-upon quality level.
  • Adhere to PMO defined processes and methodologies.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation in the PMO departmental repository.
  • Update centralized/co-owned reports and dashboards.
  • Utilize departmental templates as instructed.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for assigned projects.
  • Foster positive relationships with project team members and stakeholders.
  • Help recruit and select project manager professionals into the company.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding of resources.
  • Conduct performance reviews, mentoring, and coaching sessions throughout the year.
  • Partner with employees to create training plans that support business needs and individual interests.
  • Manage a succession plan for key roles on the team.

Requirements

  • Experience managing the health of a sub-portfolio, ensuring all projects are identified and captured.
  • Facilitate and distribute meeting notes for all sub-portfolio meetings.
  • Resolve governance-related risks, issues, action items, and decisions.
  • Escalate unresolved matters to ITEC as appropriate.
  • Provide timely and accurate inputs to ITEC documentation and communications.
  • Contribute to advancing the maturity and brand of the PMO by identifying areas for improvement.
  • Lead implementation of improvement recommendations from the PMO Director.
  • Experience in a centralized PMO environment with knowledge of Project Management principles.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with experience in enterprise technology deployments.
  • Experience managing data and AI projects, including data acquisition, modeling, and maintenance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to executive leadership.
  • Ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment.
  • Experience building, coaching, and managing an effective team.
