About the position

The Portfolio Manager for EIM Public Markets is a senior role focused on managing external investment partnerships primarily in public equities and core fixed income. This position involves collaboration with senior investment leaders and requires extensive expertise in portfolio construction, performance analytics, and risk management. The role also includes people management responsibilities and the opportunity to mentor junior staff while overseeing a significant portfolio of assets.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager, External Investment Management, and other senior leaders across asset classes.
  • Manage a portfolio of $5 billion or higher in public equities and core fixed income investments.
  • Lead risk and performance analytics across public equities and core fixed income.
  • Conduct periodic investment and economic market-related projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee portfolio construction related to external mandates in public equities and core fixed income.
  • Manage relationships with external investment managers and conduct due diligence on new investments.
  • Monitor current portfolio strategies and recommend actions based on performance drivers.
  • Collaborate with performance analytics and risk management teams for optimal portfolio construction.

Requirements

  • BA or BS required; MBA, CFA, CAIA, or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 11-15 years of relevant experience in investments and financial markets.
  • Extensive experience in global financial markets across asset classes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders such as investment accounting and legal departments.
  • Ability to think tactically and strategically with flexibility to adapt to new processes.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching experience with excellent judgment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expert knowledge in using Bloomberg and FactSet investment systems.
  • Experience in financial risk management and quantitative analysis.
