The Portfolio Operations Manager at BankFinancial is responsible for managing both an existing and new portfolio of Commercial Finance Factoring and Asset Based Lending (ABL) clients. This role encompasses overseeing the day-to-day operations for these clients, which includes a variety of tasks that require proficiency in Factoring and ABL operations. The position demands strong credit skills, excellent customer service, negotiation abilities, and a solid understanding of bank products. The individual will work under moderate supervision, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. Key responsibilities include the retention of the assigned portfolio and loss prevention, which are the primary objectives of the role. The manager will provide quality customer service, addressing inquiries and directing clients to appropriate personnel or third-party vendors as necessary. Daily operations involve monitoring collections, processing client funding requests, and ensuring accurate posting to the system of record. The manager will also track client reporting requirements and follow up as needed, oversee the verification of account debtor invoices, and review debtor credit limits daily, recommending changes for approval. Additionally, the Portfolio Operations Manager will coordinate with accounting for daily and month-end reconciliations, manage loan renewals, and work with management on facility increases or pricing changes. The role requires effective collection or exit strategies for credits when necessary, maintaining a satisfactory level of familiarity with clients' operations and industries. The manager will assist in underwriting new transactions, ensuring that loan applications are complete and conducting initial viability analyses. They will also review and present loan presentations to supervisors and ensure proper onboarding of new clients, processing payoffs as needed. The position involves preparing management reports and attempting to cross-sell all bank loan, deposit, treasury management, and electronic products. Proper documentation and maintenance of electronic loan files are also critical aspects of this role.
