About the position

The Portfolio Operations Specialist at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) will manage the internal governance approval process and support operational, financial, and legal governance for NatureVest impact investment projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that TNC's impact investments align with its mission to conserve natural resources while generating financial returns. The specialist will work closely with various teams to facilitate the approval process and maintain compliance with legal and corporate governance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the internal governance approval process for impact investment projects.
• Support the NatureVest Portfolio Program Manager with operational, financial, and conservation reporting.
• Serve as corporate secretary for NatureVest-managed entities, preparing meeting minutes and resolutions.
• Ensure legal governance for NatureVest-managed entities and maintain good standing with state registrations.
• Assist in the management of annual budgets and ongoing reporting for third-party investors.
• Monitor and report on conservation, financial, and risk outcomes for impact investment projects.
• Produce presentation materials for TNC leadership regarding trends and recommendations.
• Develop consolidated conservation measurement documentation and track outcomes for projects.
• Create and refine documentation regarding governance and operational workflows.
• Build internal relationships to ensure project outcomes are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience generating reports and analyzing data.
• Experience managing and implementing multiple projects.
• Experience with business process analysis and improvement.
• Familiarity with current technology in the relevant field.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in impact investing or environmental conservation sectors.
