About the position

The Portfolio Operations Specialist at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) will manage the internal governance approval process and support operational, financial, and legal governance for NatureVest impact investment projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that TNC's impact investments align with its mission to integrate natural capital into global financial markets, facilitating projects that generate financial returns while achieving measurable environmental and social outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the internal governance approval process for impact investment projects.
  • Support the NatureVest Portfolio Program Manager in establishing and managing TNC subsidiaries associated with impact investments.
  • Serve as corporate secretary for NatureVest-managed entities, preparing and maintaining meeting minutes and resolutions.
  • Ensure legal governance for NatureVest-managed entities, maintaining good standing with state registrations and coordinating with legal services.
  • Assist in annual budgeting and ongoing reporting for NatureVest-managed entities and third-party investors.
  • Monitor and report on conservation, financial, and risk outcomes for impact investment projects.
  • Produce presentation materials for TNC leadership regarding trends and recommendations.
  • Develop consolidated conservation measurement documentation and track conservation outcomes for projects.
  • Create, review, and refine documentation regarding governance and operational workflows.
  • Build internal relationships to ensure project operational outcomes are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience generating reports and analyzing data.
  • Experience managing and implementing multiple projects.
  • Experience with business process analysis and/or improvement.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
