About the position

DISH, an EchoStar Company, is seeking a Portfolio Product Manager to join our dynamic Technology team in Littleton, Colorado. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of connectivity as we build America's First Smart Network™. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technology leaders to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment across various teams and stakeholders. The Portfolio Product Manager will oversee the entire process of bringing new features to life, from requirements gathering to collaborating with engineering teams and ensuring that all delivery requirements are met. In this role, you will partner with senior leadership to proactively identify and prioritize initiatives that have the potential to deliver significant business impact. You will manage product value, usability, feasibility, and business risks, ensuring that all artifacts are clear and understandable. Collaboration is key, as you will work with Technical Product Managers, engineers, and architects to ensure that their work aligns with the larger product deliverables. You will also be responsible for creating initiatives and epics in Jira, detailing clear acceptance criteria, objectives, and scope. The Portfolio Product Manager will lead agile ceremonies for product delivery and facilitate customer journey mapping sessions to enhance the customer experience. This position requires a strong understanding of the product lifecycle and experience managing end-to-end projects. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical acumen and business insight, enabling them to participate in solution discussions and drive product success.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business and technology leaders to define the product vision, strategy and roadmap
  • Oversee the process of bringing new features, including requirements gathering, collaborating with the engineering team and architects and ensuring cross-functional alignment on delivery requirements
  • Partner with senior leadership to proactively problem solve and prioritize initiatives with the potential to deliver the greatest business impact
  • Manage product value, usability, feasibility and business risks
  • Ensure artifacts are clear and understandable
  • Collaborate with Technical Product Managers, the engineering team and architects for each platform component to ensure their work aligns with the larger product deliverables
  • Create initiatives and epics in Jira, detailing clear acceptance criteria, objectives and scope
  • Experience managing e2e projects through product lifecycle
  • Lead agile ceremonies for product delivery
  • Lead customer journey mapping sessions and have the ability to understand the customer experience

Requirements

  • BA/BS in a technical or business discipline (information systems, engineering, computer science, finance, business administration) or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A level of technical acumen that allows you to understand and participate in solution discussions
  • Experience in the wireless industry
  • Excellent organizational, facilitation and written/verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivation with strong, proven, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional resources and work well in a distributed environment
  • Ability to plan for future work while maintaining the current delivery with rapidly changing priorities
  • Strong experience interacting and working with multiple dev teams
  • Technical proficiency in Rally, Agile Methodology experience, full understanding of CI/CD environment
