About the position

The Portfolio Program Manager Principal role at FedEx is a key position within the corporate initiatives program management team, responsible for managing the portfolio transformation strategy and providing demand management leadership. This role focuses on executing strategic programs critical to the long-term success of the corporation, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategies and portfolio priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Drives program management and operating model standards to ensure solid execution and accelerated delivery.
  • Independently manages day-to-day oversight for large scale program impacts to the portfolio.
  • Facilitates cross-portfolio alignment, problem solving, and escalates issues and risks.
  • Takes a customer-focused approach in developing and implementing the portfolio transformation roadmap.
  • Innovates on content and narratives that drive portfolio governance forums.
  • Presents to internal and external senior leaders as required.
  • Conducts research and analysis to lead process improvements and organizational change management.
  • Supports the implementation of programs across operating companies and services by creating and implementing departmental program management processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Facilitates program monitoring to enable realization of benefits and provides visibility to senior management on the current status of programs.
  • Demonstrates bias to action and champions change management.
  • Provides mentoring for the development of those in less senior positions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Seven years of professional work experience.
  • At least three years of experience in facilitation of large programs or multi-function projects in a practical business setting.
  • Familiarity with the transportation/logistics industry and expertise in multifunctional project/program leadership experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
