About the position

The Portfolio Reconciliation Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely cash transactions and balances within the company's internal portfolio accounting system. This role involves reconciling holdings, transactions, security prices, and characteristics to ensure accurate appraisal and performance calculations. The analyst will manage discrepancies and exceptions through research and resolution, collaborating with external custodians, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Input and verify cash transactions through the portfolio accounting system.
  • Support maintenance of securities and prices to ensure accurate characteristics and prices for appraisal and performance calculations.
  • Generate standard and ad hoc reports as needed for internal and external requests.
  • Monitor the flow of trade detail data received from trading desks regarding settlement details.
  • Complete timely reconciliation of holdings and transactions between various systems and custodian banks.
  • Maintain accurate records of discrepancies and resolutions.
  • Generate reconciliation reports for internal and external use.
  • Handle relationships with vendors, custodians, and other institutions to improve service quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in the investment management industry.
  • Strong interest in investment management, securities operations, and portfolio accounting.
  • Knowledge of fixed income and equity securities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to manage a high volume of email.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote/hybrid environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Investment Operations experience preferred but not required.
