About the position

The Portfolio Research Analyst at Empower Business Strategies is responsible for managing investment research, maintaining client relationships, and supporting portfolio construction. This role requires strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities to convey insights effectively to clients and advisors. The analyst will work closely with high net worth individuals, ensuring their investment strategies align with their financial goals while providing a personable approach to wealth management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quarterly calls to discuss portfolio performance and address client inquiries.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports for client reviews, detailing portfolio changes and performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain internal worksheets for tracking fund performance and fees.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support the creation of comprehensive monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Conduct in-depth research to assess market trends and investment risks.
  • Assist in the construction and management of client portfolios, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
  • Document and communicate research findings to advisors, highlighting potential impacts on client portfolios.
  • Manage accounts to ensure client investments remain aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of asset performance and recommend portfolio adjustments based on market conditions.
  • Collaborate with advisors on specific client requests and account adjustments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Series 7 license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment research or financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex financial concepts to clients.

Nice-to-haves

  • Consideration of obtaining Series 4 and/or 24, CFA / CIMA / AIF / CFP designation is a plus.
  • Experience working with high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals.
