About the position

The Portfolio Strategy Analyst III plays a crucial role in supporting portfolio management strategies at Ahold Delhaize USA, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, and disposals. This position involves analyzing industry prospects, conducting geospatial analytics, and providing project management support during M&A due diligence. The analyst will gather and analyze data on competitors and market share, contributing to strategic decision-making and growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Research and determine key analytics for merger and acquisition targets.
  • Analyze incoming mergers and acquisitions.
  • Identify and comprehend transactions, regulatory evaluations, and present findings to senior M&A management.
  • Conduct research on prospective firms and prepare customized presentations.
  • Collect and analyze large amounts of data on companies, markets, and competitors.
  • Formulate reports and data sets based on private and public information, including revenue and resource assessments.
  • Track key metrics and ensure data accuracy.
  • Manage GIS analytics for portfolio management and become an expert in supporting software.
  • Support quarterly production and dissemination of ADREAM results to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify new store growth areas using GIS analytics.
  • Maintain strong relations and project management priorities during mergers or acquisitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, finance, or mathematics.
  • 6-8 years of previous business consulting or related experience.
  • Very strong analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Strong GIS software skills.
  • Experience in a global multi-vendor/shared services environment.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced reporting tools and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work to meet time-based deliverables.
  • Knowledge of electronic market forecasting and GIS software.
