About the position

WSP is seeking a Ports and Marine Senior Lead Engineer/Project Manager to join their Maritime group, which is recognized as the largest and best waterfront/marine design group in the country. This role involves leading structural analysis and design for marine and upland components, managing diverse projects for major clients including port authorities and the U.S. Navy. The position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a focus on meeting client objectives and solving complex challenges in the maritime sector.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform and supervise structural analysis and design for marine and upland components.
• Lead development of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for a variety of port and Navy projects.
• Understand maritime codes and references including UFC, PIANC, ASCE-61.
• Independently prepare basis of design, design calculations, technical reports, alternatives analysis, and study reports.
• Understand interdisciplinary requirements for port projects and perform QA/QC reviews.
• Attend client meetings and perform site visits.
• Mentor developing port and maritime engineers.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in analysis and design of port structures.
• Professional Engineer Licenses.
• Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Previous experience in analyses and design of medium to large scale ports/maritime/Navy structures and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates.
• National professional practice organization involvement.
• Hands-on analyses and design experience (SAP2000, OPTIMOOR, L-PILE, SLIDE).
