About the position

The POS Application Developer will be responsible for architecting, analyzing, designing, and developing enhancements to the business banking loan application. This role involves leading medium to large projects that impact other applications and technologies, collaborating with analysts to gather requirements, and providing development estimates based on project scope. The developer will also support the team in troubleshooting production issues and assist in training and mentoring less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, analyze, design, and develop enhancements to the business banking loan application.
  • Lead medium to large projects that impact other applications and technologies.
  • Work with analysts to gather requirements and write technical design documents.
  • Develop solutions, test, debug, and implement projects.
  • Perform complex assignments independently and in large team settings.
  • Collaborate with outside vendor teams interfacing with internal applications.
  • Provide development estimates based on project scope.
  • Learn new systems, applications, technologies, and business domains.
  • Support the team in troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
  • Assist with training and mentoring less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related work experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in ARGO Teller, Java, J2EE, Web Services, HTML, XML, JavaScript, PowerShell, SQL, C++ development.
  • Knowledge of Zena batch scheduler and batch processing.
  • Microsoft experience (Active Directory, IIS, Windows Server) preferred.
  • Experience working in multi-platform environments.
  • Ability to balance project, development, and support roles.
  • Experience in working on projects involving business segments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Focus on customer service and ability to work well with IT, vendor, and business groups.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automated systems or procedures development.
  • Experience serving as a project leader.
