About the position

The Teradata Database Developer position in Jersey City, NJ, is focused on developing and managing database solutions to support large-scale Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring and surveillance data assets. The role requires extensive experience in Teradata and related technologies, with a strong emphasis on data sourcing, modeling, and provisioning. The developer will engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure effective communication throughout the software development lifecycle, particularly in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute database-intensive development, data migrations, and conversions.
• Design and build database solutions using Teradata 16.x and SQL/BTEQ scripting.
• Coordinate development efforts in a distributed environment.
• Engage with business stakeholders for requirement discovery and engagement.
• Perform SQL performance tuning and optimization.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts in a Unix environment.
• Utilize tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Ansible for CI/CD processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Teradata and SQL/BTEQ scripting.
• Proficiency in TPT, Informatica 10.x, and UNIX Shell scripting.
• Experience with Cloudera CDP, Hadoop (Hive, Impala, PySpark, Scala).
• Strong data sourcing, modeling, and provisioning skills.
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and change management (CICD).
• Effective communication and listening skills.
