The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a Post Doc Research Associate in Materials Science to join our multi-disciplinary team focused on energy storage research. This position is centered around the development of high energy density lithium-sulfur batteries, a cutting-edge technology that has the potential to revolutionize energy storage solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of liquid electrolytes, utilizing new solvents, salts, and additives to create an appropriate solvation structure. Additionally, the role involves the development of lithium metal anodes featuring a 3D structure and protective membranes to enable stable cycling of lithium-sulfur batteries. In this role, the candidate will also engage in the characterization of electrochemical and morphological properties, as well as the investigation of electrode/electrolyte interphases. The successful candidate will be expected to prepare manuscripts for publication and present research findings at national and international conferences.
