About the position

At Amgen, our shared mission—to serve patients—drives all that we do. As a Post Doctoral Fellow in AI / Machine Learning Data Scientist within Amgen's Transformative Digital Capabilities (TDC) organization, you will play a crucial role in developing and deploying advanced computational technologies that enhance biopharmaceutical processes. This position involves working on data capture, integration, and management, as well as empirical and first principles modeling to improve process understanding and robustness. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and deploying machine learning models specifically for biopharmaceutical processes, such as upstream biologics, where a solid understanding of process engineering is preferred. In this role, you will select the underlying technologies and infrastructure necessary for the projects. You will also facilitate data flow from our centralized data lake to computational models, ensuring that the data is effectively utilized. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background combined with expertise in data science, enabling them to tackle complex cross-functional projects that include machine learning, hybrid model development, data analysis, and visualization. You will collaborate with cross-functional project teams, frequently interacting with Amgen's subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders, while documenting and communicating the technical basis of the models for the benefit of engineers and scientists. This position is not just about technical skills; it requires a self-starter who can thrive in a dynamic environment, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders. Your contributions will directly impact our mission to serve patients and advance the field of biotechnology.
