About the position

The Postdoctoral Research position at Clemson University focuses on developing water demand projections and models to address water management challenges in South Carolina. The role involves data collection, analysis, and collaboration with stakeholders to inform the state's water plan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop water demand projections and statistical models for water management challenges.
  • Collect and analyze spatial and temporal data.
  • Prepare high-quality maps and charts.
  • Draft detailed reports and present findings at stakeholders' meetings.
  • Incorporate feedback and make necessary adjustments to models and projections.
  • Explore econometric analysis of water demand.
  • Assist in the development of data dashboards.
  • Prepare journal articles for publication.

Requirements

  • PhD in hydrology, water resources planning and management, or agricultural economics with a focus on econometric analysis.
  • Strong background in statistics and programming skills (preferably in R or willingness to learn R and RShiny).
  • Experience with GIS and good presentation and writing skills, demonstrated by journal publications.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel across the state for meetings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with graduate students.
  • Familiarity with grant proposal writing.
