About the position

The Post Doctoral Fellowship position at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences focuses on researching the role of estrogen receptor regulation in innate immunity related to urinary tract infection (UTI) pathogenesis. The successful candidate will employ molecular and immunological techniques to explore estrogen receptor signaling's impact on inflammation in the bladder and kidney during UTI initiation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on estrogen receptor regulation of innate immunity in UTI pathogenesis.
  • Utilize molecular and immunological approaches to study inflammation in the bladder and kidney.
  • Independently design and conduct experiments with some supervision as needed.
  • Write manuscripts and present research findings at local and national meetings.
  • Assist in writing grant proposals and submit fellowship applications.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience in flow cytometry, including sorting and data analysis.
  • Experience in cell culture, bioinformatics, and confocal microscopy is advantageous.
  • Documented success in research, such as first author publications.
