About the position

Liberty POST is seeking a motivated and energetic Early Childhood Special Education Teacher (SEIT) for per diem employment to work with children aged 3-5 years in Preschool Special Education programs. The role involves providing individualized support and instruction to children with developmental delays, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining documentation as required by educational regulations.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with children, ages 3-5 years, with developmental delays
• Travel to children's preschool programs to provide instruction and support
• Collaborate with family members and multi-disciplinary teams to develop goals and outcomes
• Work with family members to facilitate active involvement at home
• Maintain proper documentation and write progress reports as required by NYSED and NYC DOE
• Coordinate services as per NYSED regulations
• Resolve scheduling or service delivery issues with the CPSE
• Share information with related service providers to support integration of SEIT and related services
• Gather progress reports and anecdotal information from related service providers
• Participate in CPSE meetings, either in person or by telephone
• Provide progress information to parents and the CPSE
• Ensure effective communication practices, such as telephone conferences, as needed

Requirements

• Valid NYS Teacher Certification: Student with Disabilities, Birth - Grade 2
• Certified Special Education Teacher (Permanent)
• Successful completion of all background checks as per program, NYC and NYS requirements
• Candidates must be fully vaccinated
