About the position

The Post Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting both domestic and international end users of video streaming and video transfer products. This includes managing pre- and post-air cuts of various NBCUniversal content, making it an exciting opportunity to engage with clients from around the globe. As a member of the Marketing Supply Chain team, the specialist will be responsible for the support and operations of NBCUniversal's Television portfolio, which includes well-known brands such as NBC, USA, SYFY, Bravo, and E!. The technology portfolio encompasses both custom and vendor-supported products that cater to various departments including production, press, public relations, and marketing. In this role, the Post Operations Specialist will provide Level 1 support for multiple technology products, ensuring that users receive the assistance they need. This involves close collaboration with the Manager and the global team to ensure proper coverage during assigned shifts. The specialist will engage directly with users, both on-site and remotely, ranging from entry-level staff to senior executives. Utilizing a web-based administration tool, the specialist will manage user accounts, permissions, and content uploads. Effective communication is key, as the specialist will need to interact with non-technical users both domestically and internationally, often in situations where English may not be their primary language. The role requires the specialist to become a subject matter expert for the systems and business processes they support, ensuring that they can provide informed and effective assistance to users. This position is hybrid, requiring in-office presence at least three days a week, and may involve working shifts, including overnights and occasional weekend coverage for special events.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple technology products from an L1 support perspective.
  • Work in close collaboration with Manager and global team to provide proper coverage during assigned shift.
  • Engage with users directly, both on-site and remote, from entry level staff to senior executives.
  • Use a web-based administration tool to create users, manage permissions, upload content, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical users both domestic and abroad, sometimes where English is not their primary language.
  • Become a subject matter expert for assigned systems and business processes/workflows he/she is supporting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hardware and/or software support role; including providing support for Macs, PCs, iOS, and Android devices.
  • Working knowledge of video codecs and transcoding.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident, clear, and comfortable written and verbal communication across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to summarize complex issues in concise, user-friendly communications.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work shifts including overnights Monday through Friday as determined by Manager.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Media and Entertainment environment preferred.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and develop resolutions to complex problems.
  • Experience or knowledge of content protection or security.
  • Experience with Adobe creative suite.
