About the position

The Postal Operations Specialist at NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville will serve as the deputy to the Region Postal Manager, providing policy guidance for the administration and operation of Military Postal Facilities. This role involves preparing funding documents, assisting with the Navy Official Mail Cost Control Program, and developing standard operating procedures for postal operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as deputy to the Region Postal Manager within the Navy's Region and Fleet Logistics Center area of responsibility.
• Provide policy guidance for the administration and operation of Military Postal Facilities.
• Prepare funding documents for allocation of funds to support postal operations.
• Assist with the administration of the Navy Official Mail Cost Control Program.
• Develop and initiate mail service statistical documentation on expenditures and surveys on mail volume.
• Develop regional standard operating procedures for daily postal operations.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Experience in maintaining effective postal operations and providing technical advice on postal laws and regulations.
• Experience in operating a mail processing facility that processes mail to worldwide destinations.
• Experience in conducting postal inspections and implementing corrective actions for postal mail programs.
