About the position

The Postdoctoral Associate in Computer Vision and Machine Learning will join The 77 Lab within the Mechanical Engineering department to conduct research focused on computer vision and deep learning. This role emphasizes the implementation of these technologies on mobile edge devices, particularly for estimating clinical scores from video images. The position involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including scientists, engineers, and students, to advance ongoing projects in robotics and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in computer vision and deep learning.
• Implement algorithms on mobile edge devices such as smartphones and tablets.
• Collaborate with scientists, postdoctoral associates, graduate students, and engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
• Estimate clinical scores of patients from video images.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field at the time of hire.
• Strong track record of academic publications.
• Research experience with computer vision and machine learning.
• Experience designing and training deep learning models (CNNs, RCNNs, Fast RCNNs, etc.) for computer vision using MATLAB, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or cuDNN.
• Proficiency with software engineering using C/C++, OpenCV, MATLAB, and Python.
