About the position

The Postdoctoral Associate in Computer Vision and Machine Learning at MIT's Mechanical Engineering department will engage in cutting-edge research within The 77 Lab, focusing on computer vision and deep learning applications. This role emphasizes the implementation of advanced algorithms on mobile edge devices to assess clinical scores from video images, necessitating collaboration with a diverse team of scientists and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in computer vision and deep learning.
• Implement algorithms on mobile edge devices such as smartphones and tablets.
• Estimate clinical scores of patients from video images.
• Collaborate with scientists, postdoctoral associates, graduate students, and engineers on multidisciplinary projects.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field at the time of hire.
• Strong track record of academic publications.
• Research experience with computer vision and machine learning.
• Experience designing and training deep learning models (CNNs, RCNNs, Fast RCNNs, etc.) for computer vision using MATLAB, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or cuDNN.
• Proficiency with software engineering using C/C++, OpenCV, MATLAB, and Python.
