About the position

The Postdoctoral Associate in Electrophysiology will focus on research related to adult neurogenesis and the effects of aging and age-related diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease. The role requires a strong background in molecular biology and electrophysiology, with an emphasis on collaborative work within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts Immunohistochemistry; confocal microscopy, stereology.
  • Conducts DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, Western blot analysis.
  • Performs Patch-clamp in mouse slices and other preparations.
  • Conducts Field recordings in mouse slices and other preparations.
  • Performs Screening of drugs and their effects on neuronal activity.
  • Data analysis of single and multi-electrode recordings.

Requirements

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Highly motivated with a proven record of research accomplishments.
  • Expertise in working with mouse models of disease.
  • Strong background in electrophysiology.
  • Some experience in drug development.
