About the position

Colby College is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in public policy to mentor advanced students in real-world policy evaluation projects and teach policy-related courses. This two-year appointment offers opportunities for research, teaching, and collaboration with faculty and community partners, enhancing skills in policy analysis and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor approximately ten advanced students each semester on policy evaluation projects.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and community partner organizations.
  • Lead workshops on practical policy analysis skills, including memo writing and data visualization.
  • Teach one policy-related course in the second year of the appointment.
  • Pursue an active research and publishing agenda.
  • Participate in a public policy colloquium series and engage with faculty and staff in policy-relevant research.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in public policy or a closely related field by September 1, 2024.
  • Policy work experience outside of graduate school is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach inclusively and engage with diverse student populations.
