This project focuses on the interface of organelle/tissue communication during aging, situated within the Department of Genetics, Development, and Cell Biology. The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Biology, Genetics, or a related field and will have a strong background in cellular and molecular biology. The research aims to explore age-related changes in organelle/tissue communication to better understand the mechanisms of organelle/tissue aging. In this role, the Postdoctoral Research Assistant will work primarily under the supervision of Dr. Ping Kang and will collaborate closely with various research groups. The position involves a diverse array of in vitro and in vivo experimental techniques, including cell signaling, gene expression manipulation, protein biochemistry, and advanced imaging techniques such as confocal microscopy. The lab also utilizes genetic models, including Drosophila and mice, to investigate the underlying biological processes. The successful candidate will be expected to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, which includes faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students at various academic levels. Responsibilities will include supervising and training students in laboratory techniques, collecting and analyzing experimental data, composing manuscripts for publication, and preparing presentations for scientific meetings.
