About the position
The University of Nebraska Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Dr. Wei Shi's laboratory. The research focuses on the epigenetic mechanisms regulating embryonic heart development, particularly chromatin remodeling complexes. The successful candidate will lead a research program aimed at understanding cardiomyocyte maturation and cellular interactions during neonatal heart development, with the long-term goal of innovating regenerative approaches for treating heart diseases in adults. This position offers collaboration opportunities with the Department of Internal Medicine and the Mary and Holland Dick Regenerative Medicine Center, along with extensive training in cardiovascular disease, developmental biology, and biomaterials-based regenerative medicine.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct experiments, maintaining detailed experimental records and documentation.
- Analyze experimental results in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
- Develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols as needed.
- Interpret, summarize, and compile data for publication and presentation.
- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout the training period.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Pathology, or a related discipline.
- Strong publication record.
- Experience with rodent models, cardiovascular cell biology, or bioinformatics is highly desirable.
