About the position

The Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Dr. Stacey Schultz-Cherry's lab focuses on developing innovative influenza vaccines for vulnerable populations, understanding mucosal immune responses to reduce viral transmission, and examining the effects of obesity on epithelial responses to infection and vaccination. The role requires a highly motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively in a diverse research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assume primary responsibility for the development and oversight of research projects, including literature review, experiment design, data analysis, and dissemination of findings through presentations, manuscripts, and grant applications.
  • Supervise and work closely with trainees, including graduate students.
  • Participate and take on leadership roles in group projects.
  • Collaborate with supervisors on projects and explore new research areas.
  • Pursue opportunities to build collaborations.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field is required.
  • Hands-on experience in Cell Biology, metabolism, human studies, virology, and immunology is encouraged.
  • Experience in developing primary cell and in vivo models.
